Working together for your children
Tapestry
We use the online learning journal system called Tapestry. This enables parents to keep up to date electronically with everything their child has been up to, including assessments, toileting and sleep information.
You can download the app onto your smart phone or tablet and will receive email notifications when an observation (including photo or video) has been added. We will also use Tapestry to send you messages and invoices.
The information is completely secure and can only be accessed with your unique password.
Achieving the best we can
We organise our sessions so that the children can choose from, and work at, a range of activities and, in doing so, build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion. The children are also helped and encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others.
We have designed our own curriculum which puts each child’s individuality at the centre, scaffolding their learning to ensure they make the best progress they can and exceed in their development.
Outdoor activities contribute to children's health, their physical development and their knowledge of the world around them. We access outdoor learning all year round, and we love to get out and about in our local community.
The session
Snack is included in the session fee and provided by us.
Children are offered fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from the local Green Grocers.
We only provide milk or water to drink at snack time, and water is readily available for children at all times.
Children bring in a packed lunch, we encourage healthy options and don’t allow sweets or chocolate. Children can bring in hot food to eat which is kept warm in a flask.
Our sensory room provides a dedicated space for one to one time where staff can spend time with children to provide support for targeted development. Children make better progress through quiet activities with their key person.
Playing Outdoors
Our secure outdoor area is accessed all year round. Children grow vegetables, explore the natural world and play with their friends on the large equipment.
